SKIN HEALTH / UNEVEN TONE

Different kinds of spots.
Different next steps.

Uneven tone is a description, not a diagnosis. We start by understanding the concern instead of assuming every dark patch needs the same product or procedure.

If breakouts have settled but color remains, your next question may be about marks rather than active acne. Explore Smooth Over to understand how we separate tone concerns from texture concerns, then bring your questions to a consultation.1

Where does your concern fit?

Marks after breakouts

Flat discoloration can remain after acne or irritation settles. Explore the separate post-acne marks page.

Sun-related changes

Some changes in tone develop with sun exposure. An unexplained or changing spot needs medical assessment before cosmetic treatment.

Other patches or discoloration

Melasma and other conditions need an appropriate assessment. Do not assume a cosmetic service is suitable from a photograph or quiz.

Understand post-acne marks

Assessment before intensity.

We ask about when the change appeared, your current routine, recent treatments and any irritation. We also discuss when a dermatologist should assess it.

Care recommendations depend on the concern and your skin's tolerance. We do not use the same peel or product plan for everyone.

PROTOCOL-INFORMED CARE / PROPOSED SERVICE MENU

Brightening care, explained.

A brightening service is not a diagnosis. First understand the change in your skin; then discuss a suitable professional option and home routine.

Lira Clinical · Brightening Excellence

Brightening Facial

A professional facial that combines cleansing, exfoliation, targeted serum care and hydration, finishing with sun protection. The supplied protocol includes Lactic Clear and MYSTIQ iLuminating Polisher, with provider-selected finishing products.

Why discuss it: For a consultation about uneven-looking tone and texture. Intensity and suitability are assessed first.

Face Reality · Bright Skin Peel 1

Bright Skin Peel

The professional protocol begins with cleansing and a treatment-tolerance check before peel selection. It includes appropriate extraction care when indicated and a protective finish. A hydrating alternative is used when skin does not tolerate the preparation.

Why discuss it: For provider-assessed suitability; a peel is not the default answer to every mark.

WHAT THE VISIT CONNECTS

Care in the clinic.
A plan for home.

Understand the change
Do not treat an unexplained or changing spot as a routine cosmetic concern.

Discuss the treatment
Clarify the purpose, preparation and aftercare of the selected service.

Keep protection consistent
Review a home routine that supports the care plan.

Professional protocol products are not automatically a take-home shopping list. Your retail routine is selected separately.

Your questions, welcome.

Is this the same as the hyperpigmentation page?

This page is the overview for uneven tone. Our hyperpigmentation page focuses on lingering dark marks after acne or irritation.

Can Accure Laser Therapy remove sun spots?

Accure Laser Therapy is for inflammatory acne. It is not presented as sun-spot or pigmentation removal. Accure Laser Therapy is available only at Louisville Advanced. Appointments begin after January 1, 2027. Consultation required before treatment.

Will one treatment be enough?

We do not promise a number of sessions before assessment. The cause of the discoloration and the suitable options come first.
